About the Artist: Growing up as a Jamaican-American, MIMS gives credit to his childhood years in Washington Heights, where he always had the Harlem influence around him. MIMS began his career with the DJ equipment that his mother bought him when he was thirteen. Unfortunately, around the same time, his mother passed away after the birth of his younger sister. His sister passed away a week later due to after-birth complications. Only two years before, he lost his father. MIMS overcame many tragedies in his life.
